About Municipal Court
City Code violations are tried before the Municipal Court of Lake Ozark, which has original jurisdiction to hear and determine all such violations. Lake Ozark’s Municipal Court is a part of the Circuit Court and follows the rules of such court in addition to the rules of the Supreme Court.
Prosecutions for the violations of City Code are instituted by information and are based on a complaint. All proceedings shall be in accordance with the Supreme Court rules governing practice and procedure in all proceedings before the Municipal Judge.
Defendants are entitled to trial by jury, as in prosecutions before an Associate Circuit Judge. Whenever a defendant accused of a violation of City Code demands a trial by jury, the Municipal Judge shall certify the case for assignment. Except where authorized by law and requested by the defendant or his/her attorney, all issues of fact shall be tried by the Municipal Judge.
City Code violations are prosecuted by City Prosecutor Chris Rohrer.
Municipal Court Judge is Aaron Ellsworth.
Lake Ozark Municipal Court is typically held the third Monday of each month. Because of holidays or other conflicts, Municipal Court is sometimes held on the second Monday.
2024 dates are: January 22, February 26, March 18, April 15, May 13, June 17, July 15, August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18, December 16.
The Lake Ozark Municipal Court Office is located in City Hall at 3162 Bagnell Dam Boulevard, and is open to the public 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.
