The Lake Ozark Police Department is involved in many aspects in the community. Community policing is more than just a phrase it is the philosophy by which we carry out our duties. Some programs have been established, others are waiting to begin pending interest in the community. Lake Ozark Police Department is also involved in many chairty and volunteer events throughout the year.

These are just a few of the programs which are currently being implemented or are already in use. Our door is always open for ideas from the community we serve. Please contact the Police Department for more information or to volunteer your services.

Interested in becoming a Police Officer? Want to know if it is really something you will enjoy? The Lake Ozark Police Department is hosting a Junior Police Academy (JPA) for kids ages 10-16. The two day academy will consist of many aspects of policing such as; crime scene processing with a mock crime scene, traffic stops, building searches, SWAT team and K-9, arrests, and firearm qualification and safety discussions (conducted with training simulators.)
Students will receive a T-Shirt on day one, and Certificate of Completion at the end of the course.

Citizens requesting a ride-along with a police officer must complete a Ride-Along form, which includes ride-along requirements and a waiver.
Applicant must have:
- Clean criminal history
- No criminal cases pending
- Appropriate dress (slacks/collared shirt)
- Complete a background records check
First considerations given to:
- Active duty police officers or other public service officials such as federal law enforcement, park rangers etc..
- Academy students
- Criminal justice students and internships
- Concerned city residents
All ride alongs must receive prior approval from the Chief of Police or his designee. Ride alongs will not be granted unless a reasonable justification for observing is provided.
The applications are available online or at the Lake Ozark Police Department, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office notifies the applicant by telephone of the date and time of their scheduled ride-along.
The Lake Ozark Police Benevolent Association (LOPBA) is organized exclusively for charitable purposes, specifically to benefit the Lake Ozark Police Department and the community of Lake Ozark.
LOPBA membership is comprised of Lake Ozark Police Department employees.
The LOPBA hosts fundraisers and participates in many community events, often in conjunction with other associations and/or departments. Monies raised benefit local charities, other non-profit organizations, and provide the officers of Lake Ozark Police Department with necessary equipment.
LOPBA funds and collected donations help to provide support for:
